About Arena Elvenes

The area was a military camp until 2006, when the municipality purchased the property.

Arena Elvenes is open to the public, and it is a much-used beach by Øvervatnet. The Salangselva is great for fishermen and large parts of the area are suitable for walks and outdoor activities. The river is completely calm from Kistefossen down to Øvervatnet and provides 10 km of nice paddling down to Elvenessstranda.

The airport is used for air sports activities and drone operations. In 2009, a concession for airport operations was granted to Arena Elvenes with a focus on non-commercial air sports activities.
